Log in to Twitter. Just type in your username or email and password and click "Sign in.2
Click "Settings." You can find this on the drop-down menu from the little gear to the right of the search bar on the top of your page.- Change your email address and/or your username before deleting. This provides you with the opportunity to create a new account as soon as you have deleted the old account, as long as you wish. You only need to do this if you wish to immediately create a new Twitter account with the same email or username
3
Click "Deactivate my account." This is located at the bottom of the page4
Verify that this is what you really want to do. You have now deleted your Twitter account. However, know that Twitter retains your account information for 30 days, so if you have a change of heart and want your account back any time before that, you just have to log in. If not, it will be gone forever.[1]
- Remember that you don't need to delete your account if you just want to change your username or email address. You can do that under "Account Settings."
- Though your account will be removed after a few minutes, you may still be able to see some content on twitter.com for a few more days
